Episode 30! Steve is looking ravishing after his man-spa day at Jack the clipper , we are looking at some features across Office 365, giving some tips and tricks on OneNote, cool features in Outlook, Spaces and document templates in SharePoint.
The sound is not totally what we wanted. We are recording at Marijn’s place, who was ill, with his mono mic.
Office mobile app
The new Office mobile app is released. Marijn, who is a simple guy, loves the simplicity of it: it just is what it says on the box!
WalkingCat tweeted out that there was something new out from Microsoft… Outlook Spaces.
Marijn got on to it and started playing with this new app: it lets you create whiteboards with all kinds of info (like links, documents, lists, mails, calendar items, …) that you want to share with your team. It is a great visual experience that would get your team onboard very quickly.
Update: you can find the beta version of it, called “Project Moca” here.
Outlook hasn’t really been getting lots of new functionality lately, we love the conversations mode (where you get all emails with the same title combined together).
Outlook Web as your daily email client
There are a growing amount of people who are using Outlook as Outlook Web Access in the browser. We see that many new features are released on the web version first. It is a great idea to use the web version Outlook as your daily email client, like Ellen Van Aken discusses here!
Store your document templates in SharePoint
At Ignite 2019 the feature was announced that you can have your document templates stored in a SharePoint Organisational asset library.
Looking at your content in Virtual Reality sounds great? Awesome, then Microsoft has you covered! You can set up a “page” where you can show off all kinds of content.
Marijn has trouble finding a good usecase for it but it sure looks great! Steve has some ideas: He saw a demo of airplane engineers working on a plance, with an AR headset giving them all kinds of extra information.
Whisky: The English – Smokey
This episode we got our whisky from @Catchmatt.
This fullbody whisky from England, has a bit of pepper and salt. We got some ginger, cardboard (who on earth has had such a childhood that they can taste this???). Marijn gets a bit of cola in it. It turns out to be a superb tasting experience!
